1040 Days Since My Last Post

Wow! 1040 days; 2 years, 10 months, 5 days; 24,960 hours; 1,497,600 seconds! Lynne, Laurent, Tim, anybody are you still there?

What a wild time it has been! Confluence Dynamics (the green business consulting firm I started) has been “retired”. In its place my wife, Carmen, and I started Confluence Dynamics of Indiana, a non-profit whose mission is to raise awareness about the impact we have on rivers and watersheds. I also found my dream job as CIO and Vice President of Technology Solutions with Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana. Carmen and I also bought a small slice of heaven on the northeast side of Indianapolis and are in the process of making it our own.

Over the last several months, I have been feeling the urge to start blogging again. After some encouragement and counsel from my friend and social media guru Rachel, I thought I would start by looking for my old blog Rivers of Thought. Low and behold, it was STILL out there (as Rachel says, careful what you put out there, because it is out there FOREVER). All my old posts still in tact. I thought about creating a new blog, but I REALLY like the name Rivers of Thought, and as I read back through my old posts, I think they STILL have something to say. So, instead, I am going to start where I left off 1040 days ago.

Most of the posts in the archive related to green, sustainability, and issues related to the environment. I invite you to take some time and read back through the archives. If you find something that speaks to you, please comment, send me a note, or drop me a tweet.

I remain very passionate about the environment. I am also passionate about technology, more specifically, how technology can help enable businesses of all kinds achieve the results they desire. I sometimes take a different approach to technology. As the consumerization of IT continues its inevitable march into the enterprise, I believe a different approach is exactly what is called for in the next few years.

Rivers of Thought is the perfect name for the streams of ideas that will follow in the coming days, weeks, months and years. I hope you find some useful insights, get inspired to join in the dialogue, and share with your colleagues.

Jeff
